Thoughtful reflections, inspirations, or instigations. It depends on the day.

Obsolescence

June 11, 2018

One way of facilitating change is to model a way of doing things that makes all prior ways obsolete. This happens through innovation in the market as newer, more efficient, easier to use products make older ones useless.

I wonder about the same thing happening within societies. Could forgiveness make revenge obsolete? Could gifting make trading obsolete? Could Grace make the need to justify oneself obsolete? And what would happen to the world of these things came to pass?

Each one of us as the opportunity to be a model of a different way of interacting with the world than the norm we experience. In our small corner of the world, we can be a force for change, not just through our social media, but through our social interactions.
