I have a problem closing the loop, finishing the project, getting through my todo list. I recognize this. I’ve thought about why. It could be because the finishing of a particular project brings about the end of the world that project creates – the collaborators, the communal intention towards a singular goal, the growth, etc…It’s a beautiful world and maybe I’m afraid I’ll never experience it again. Or, it could be that with the finishing of the project my responsibility might grow. Maybe I’m afraid of taking on any more than I already have. It could be something else. I’m still open to answers.
This is what I do know. Fear is not a function of perfected love. It’s a tool of distraction. It is a resistance to the forward motion.
So what is to be done? The method I use is steeped in reminders. What must I do? Close the loop. Ship the product. Finish the thing. Get it done. These simple phrases remind me of what I need to do to accomplish what has been set on my heart. Lest I look back and think, “had I just finished…”
We all have challenges we are trying to overcome. What reminders do you use to get over the mountain?
